An ex-cop in self-imposed witness protection in Mexico becomes a target when a fight video of his apprentice goes viral.

Melvin Udall, a cranky, bigoted, obsessive-compulsive writer of romantic fiction, is rude to everyone he meets, including his gay neighbor, Simon.
